International Service to Shipping and Industry
Diesel Marine International is the world leader in the development and application of surface treatment processes for marine diesel engine components.
The combustion chamber of a large two stroke diesel engine provides a most hostile environment with very high surface temperatures, coupled with highly corrosive and abrasive elements derived from the combustion products of low quality fuels.
For 30 years DMI has worked closely with OEM's and ship owners to develop surface technologies to extend the operational life and reduce the cost of such key components as pistons, cylinder covers, exhaust valves and cylinder liners.
These technologies have enabled DMI to become the world leader in the field of reconditioning and exchange of large diesel engine components.
DMI is now an internationally recognised symbol of high quality and efficient service. Such well known names as Lockwood & Carlisle, LTC, Van Der Horst, Diesel Krome Engineering and Emmelot are all part of DMI's heritage.
DMI operate to the highest international quality assurance standards. DMI's quality management system has been assesed and approved by Lloyd's Register of Quality Assurance (LRQA) to BS 5750:Part2:1987 (ISO 9002:1987).
In addition, all relevant marine components are processed to Classification Society approved procedures. Component certification can be provided for all major classification Societies including Lloyd's, DNV, and ABS.
There are no shortcuts at DMI. DMI's processes, rigorous inspection procedures and QA systems have been developed in co-operation with users and manufacturers to ensure that reconditioned items are produced to original dimensions and tolerances with added anti-corrosion and anti-wear characteristics.
DMI operates wolrdwide and has factories, exchange pools and sales offices throughout Europe, North America, and Far East. DMI's network of exchange pools provides the world's ship owners with a fast, cost effective service to help keep their vessels operating on time and within budget.
Worldwide Exchange Service
DMI created its Exchange Service to help marine customers save time and money, by providing substantial stocks of instantly available components from DMI Exchange Pools in Europe, the USA and the Far East.
Millions of dollars worth of new and fully reconditioned components for most common makes of slow speed diesel engines including piston crowns, cylinder covers, cylinder liners, turbo casings, and exhaust valve spindles and seats are held in stock ready for immediate dispatch on an exchange basis.
DMI companies deal with all the details of documentation and delivery of exchange items, and can arrange for the collection of worn components.
DMI's exchange stocks are continuously updated to reflect current demand. Specific stocks can be maintained for individual customers by arrangement.
