Hardness Testers
Measuring the hardness of a material basically involves penetrating it
with a certain force and measuring the size of the penetration.
Several methods exist, including Shore (A to D), ball indentation method, Rockwell,
Leeb or IRHD. Universal Testing Machines can be
used and converted to hardness testing machines
(see table universal testing machine used as hardness tester)
, or alternatively, hardness only testing machines can be offered
(see digital shore hardness tester). These might range
from simple portable hardness testers
(see portable hardness tester) to sophisticated and highly
accurate machines that measure all kinds of hardnesses. Additional accessories, like
specimen handling systems
(see table hardness tester with specimen handling system)
can be also provided.
